For those interested in such things, the Forest Service has a Mt. St. Helens webcam facing the volcano:

If it suddenly stops, that could be a sign of something interesting happening...

The cam was down during the steam release on Friday, I'm sure killed by bandwidth.

They claim that the camera itself was up, and they have archived images... but as you surmise, the Forest service webserver was overwhelmed.
