distant scheduling annoyance

(grumble) APC13 dates in San Diego (21-23 October) overlap the IAF Congress in Fukuoka, Japan (16-21 October), so my attending one precludes the other. Assuming that the IAF accepts my paper, anyway... this would also make it harder for patgreene to attend the next APC, given the kids at home.

ROFL... car follies

Yesterday, it stalled and the "check engine" light came on... because it was out of fuel. (hand to forehead) The indicator pointed to "E", true, but usually it goes *below* E before it actually runs dry... ROFL. At least it isn't something worse... :)
