And drilling.... we'll probably break for dinner at 8pm, in half an hour. No break on the weekend, I'm planning to drill through.
We nearly ran out of fuel for the generator here... I made a dash on ATV back to base camp to get more gasoline, and to bring out the spare generator that was being serviced. Got to camp, had to wait for the helicopter at the runway, then grabbed a trailer and a bigger fuel can and the generator. It was nominally 6:30pm and dinnertime, so I thought I might quickly grab and eat something.... not to be. It wasn't quite ready, I only annoyed
dangerpudding by hovering, and the folks who were waiting for food didn't like someone cutting in front of them, generator or no generator. I *had* to be back in 20 minutes... got yelled at by C, then just threw my food down in disgust and left it sitting there, hopped on my ATV and headed back to my drillsite. Got the generator refueled in time, although without much more than fumes left in its tank when I arrived. I just had no time and no patience.... if stuff was ready and others cooperative, fine, but if not the project is *way* more important to me than eating.
After some problems with platform alignment and software updates this morning and early afternoon, we're now making good progress. And the software detected a jam, downhole... ran its recovery procedure... went back... jammed again... recovered again. On the 3rd try, it cleared itself and kept going. All hands-off, automated. :)
Weather here is cold, overcast, with fog and drizzle. A cold front is headed through and low temperatures will be in the mid-20s with a chance of snow and sleet for the next 3 days.
