being adaptable...

Two days ago, I didn't know about this 6am telecon. Today, I found out that they want a presentation from me tomorrow. So, my slides are just now done, six hours before we start. Time for bed.

I did get my car back from the shop again, after a cracked fuel-feed hose was replaced. And went to tenacious_snail's poolside BBQ this evening with patgreene and the kids, and helped the_ogre celebrate his birthday.

And I set up next week's travel to Ohio... at this late date, the government airfares were mostly gone, I had a choice of either taking redeyes or staying overnight in a hub city Monday and catching an early Tuesday flight the rest of the way. On Northwest, that meant either Detroit or Minneapolis... a no-brainer for me, so I'll see NN overnight next week and NASA will save the cost of one night's hotel :).

I'm good.... ;)

Whew. I threw together ten charts last night about our lunar controller software vis-a-vis the backend client-server that is now being used for the MER rovers... finished at midnight... 6am telecon, I'm on at 6:45, still groggy, expected 15 minutes and instead ad-libbed a discussion for an hour. Without coffee.

I feel like I've already accomplished my main work goals for the day, and it's only 7:50am...
