Drill demonstration, paper, rushing...
Sep. 19th, 2006 09:50 amWhile I'm home for a couple of days... back into a rush. Today is a demonstration at 11am of our drilling automation to a visiting AIAA technical committee, including in its membership the guy at NASA HQS whose program funded it. If we do a good job, we might be asked to do a little bit of follow-on work next year.
Yesterday afternoon was spent re-integrating and testing the drill and its software, finishing around 7pm, after a brief lunch with
cyan_blue.
After the demo today, we need to break down the drill over lunchtime, and ready it for shipment to San Antonio tomorrow, and eventually to Georgia Tech where SH and his grad student will use it in the student's dissertation research until next summer. And I'm seeing Pascal at 2pm about a new project, getting a spacesuit fitting done at 3pm, possibly seeing
p3aches for coffee at 4pm, finishing my slides for tomorrow's AIAA paper presentation between 5-7pm, calling
geekchick, visiting a friend's birthday dinner around 7:30pm and then going to couples at 9:30pm with
patgreene. Whew...
Then tomorrow I have a 3pm paper at the AIAA Space 2000 conference in San Jose, before heading off to Houston at 5:45pm for a meeting Thursday morning.
