If it is Friday, it must be LA, right? I'm at San Jose airport, waiting for a flight to Burbank. But it's just a day-trip to JPL to give a 45 minute talk at 1:30pm today... I'll be back tonight, and probably at W&S.

Return to work went smoothly, other than our FY07 charge numbers aren't set up yet and we had to scramble to fill out timesheets. And I saw off [personal profile] cyan_blue on her way to Seattle in the morning, and a nice time over dinner with [personal profile] dawnd before driving back down to Los Gatos for couples... almost 200 miles driving, yesterday.

Jetlagged? Nah.

I wowed them.

An ovation... from a *review panel* meeting at JPL. When I started my talk, faces were attentive-but-neutral... by the end, smiles and nods and congratulations. And applause, which almost never happens in technical meetings.

But my team did a great job, the project is/was a resounding technical success and has gone far towards establishing the technical feasibility of doing subsurface exploration on Mars in the next decade, so what's not to like? And I rock, especially when I can even get known sceptics agreeing and nodding.

And GM and SP both had favorable hints about further work in this line, rumors they'd heard. :)
