Yesterday evening, using

simplykimberly's cat trap, we managed to trap one of the three feral cats -- the solid-black kitten. We slipped in a water dish and covered it with a cloth and left it overnight.
Today I went to the Humane Society of Silicon Valley (HSSV)... I'm not impressed. Although the gift shop clerk was pleasant and helpful, their trap-neuter-release program is IMO poorly organized.
They do feral neuter-release, sure... but only Mon-Tue-Thur mornings between 6:30-8am, with *appointments* booked a couple of weeks in advance. And they said that one shouldn't keep a kitten or a cat in the trap for more than 24-48 hours... *But* they only accept ferals *in traps*, so I will have to take care of the feral now and then put the kitten *back into the trap* whenever we can get an appointment. Sigh... how do you control what day/night a feral cat goes into the trap? It seems like a silly and awkward way to run their program.
The black kitten has now been transferred to a 24" x 36" mostly-covered cage in the garage. And then has climbed the walls and knocked over its food dish and spilled litter... a mess inside. It still hisses at me, fiercely. Not at Kevin, though...
