The notary came and went... [profile] patgreene and I signed the refinance paperwork, probably 50 signatures. I called the broker and argued over a prepayment penalty... to no avail. Unless I want to pay another point up front. So if I get transferred in the next 3 years away from here, say to northern Virginia, I'd get hit with a $10K penalty. Sigh... still, I could always negotiate it in a moving package deal. It also means that Pat and I are stuck with each other for the next 3 years, since we couldn't sell and split the equity, likewise.

The convertible was repaired (bad cables, bad alternator) and I used it to take Pat and David to his skills group at Stanford... and my own opthalmology appointment there. My eyesight has improved! I'm less nearsighted than I used to be, down to a -1.50 correction in my left eye. With an updated, less-strong set of contacts, I can now read again :-).

Tonight... I was frustrated with delaying tactics by the kids. Pat was at her support group, and I apparently called [personal profile] geekchick while she was in the shower. I finally reached Nancy and had a chance to vent. I was duly grateful afterwards. Later, I worked on the van... scrubbing the floormats, while James wiped the dashboard and Pat vacuumed. And adding Slick-50 to the transmission, which seemed to make it much happier :-).

Tomorrow... early signing of auto loan papers, then a telecon at 8:30, then JL at 9:30, then on to Monterey to swap cars, then back to work. Skating lesson tomorrow night.

And I need a haircut and beard trim, I think... [profile] bdot commented at the Dickens Fair...

I think you look quite handsome in your fair costume. Glad you got refinanced and traded. Take care driving. Did J get our gift in his b'day card on his birthday? If he would like to add to it he can rake our yard while your here. $20 front and $20 back.

Thanks, and James was grateful too. And he says that he would be glad to rake your yard, even for free :-).

"Stuck with Pat" ? Is that really how you meant to phrase that?

It was quite tongue-in-cheek... we had been teasing each other here about now having our hands tied because of mortgage finances :-).
