It's been a long day. We got a new car -- patgreene has described adequately in her journal. Some haggling and last-minute changes, as usual.

I missed most of work, everything after 11am. I have slides due tomorrow, but will have perhaps an hour to do them. Sigh.

Skating lessons were OK... jumps were OK, spins are still nonexistant. Plus, I'm the worst skater in the Adult Freestyle class. All of the others are fine,

I'm glad you have a reliable auto now. I doubt you are the worst skater, but if you are so what. You enjoy skating for it own sake. We are looking forward to seeing you soon.

Thanks! Last night, I was moodily obsessing over how long it was going to take to pay off the loan, that we were extravagant in getting something this nice, and finally that it was just a material object and hence I shouldn't be pleased with it ;-).

Skating-wise... last year, I was in a class of seven other beginning-freestyle adult skaters, all on vaguely the same level. This year, enrollment has dropped... to the point where they've combined us with the upper-level freestyle class, who are stronger, faster, and working on things like double jumps. There is only one other freestyle-1 skater, and she's been active over the summer. So... I'm respectable, I try, but I'm the baby of the class :-). It's good for me, probably...
