patgreene and I had a fascinating tour of the GBI state crime lab yesterday, guided by the witty and lovely
sisterfish125. Reality departs from TV shows... but not completely ;-). She didn't have time for lunch (my fault -- we were late) so Pat and I stopped at the Varsity in downtown Atlanta for carhop service and wonderfully greasy food. Then had coffee with an old friend RF and his two daughters before heading back for chili with my parents and siblings and all of our kids :-).
Lots of emotional stress in my life, right now... both local and with various friends. Thankfully
geekchick let me vent during a phone call.... and I had a couple of painful-but useful IM sessions last night and this morning. I'm pretty low, feeling worthless and shelved. Normal holiday stresses haven't helped.
But the trip itself is going very well... the kids are well behaved, no one is sick, only a few gifts weren't delivered in time.
And today I got to meet
elorie in person, after reading her LJ for a couple of years... we brought the kids... four small boys and three adults in a Mexican restaurant in Kennesaw. She's sharp and opinionated and talks as well as she writes :-). And isn't snarky at all... a pleasure, instead.
The rest of today... a difficult letter, then cooking, family carolling, then late-night church nearby for Pat and I.

Sorry you are experiencing stress. I hope it's getting better as the day goes on.

Date: 2003-12-26 05:42 am (UTC)Actually it worked out better that you guys were running late, because my morning was pretty crazy before you guys got there anyway. I finally got around to listening to the message that you'd be late about 5 minutes before you actually got there...
