This week's travels

I've managed to get a 7-hour layover tomorrow in Minneapolis... and a first-class upgrade. I may have internal blocks against asking for things I want from friends, but no such block against asking for exactly what I want from airline staff ;-). Having platinum-level FF privleges on CO/NW/DL helps, too... and being utterly charming and gentlemanly at times, over the phone. Unfortunately, I have to return on United in order to get a nonstop flight from Dulles home (in time for patgreene to leave Thursday for four days in San Luis Obispo).

By the way... my free domestic first-class upgrades extend to a travelling companion, so if any friends are ever travelling on the same flights with me... let me know. Pat and Nancy have taken advantage of this in the past :-).
