Time to leave with the kids for the family church service... I'm approaching this with some trepidation, after the past week's events. But then, I'm used to feeling like a tolerated stranger there. This in-between feeling is new and scary for [profile] patgreene, who really would rather just stay home. But we will need to grit our teeth and go, despite feeling not welcomed... to do otherwise would be to concede some kind of guilt in others' eyes. Communion with K officiating should be interesting... sigh. I really feel for Pat... she's grieving for loss of community. I'm used to being an outsider...

I left my church after something like that happened to me, and I never looked back. I'm not saying that this is what you should do, but sometimes "conceding guilt" is better than gritting your teeth through something week after week.
