I take a couple of hours for a long lunch -- and when I return, there's a handwritten note waiting on my chair from the Center Director's assistant, asking for pictures and backgrounds on Mars drills. Apparently we're signing some kind of research agreement with the state of Kentucky next week, and that's an area of collaboration (mining technology for space, that sort of thing).

Actually, I think it's political posturing, myself... a photo opportunity for those involved. But it is nice to be the resident expert when the front office needs help.
