Thanks to an onsite blood drive run by Stanford, I'm a pound lighter now ;-). Even if I didn't realize that the drive was today until 20 minutes before closing, and therefore had to jog a mile over there in the rain, without a jacket (car is in the shop). I was still warmed-up when the nurse took my vital signs, so my pulse and blood pressure were both slightly elevated.

Still, it beats an afternoon of boring meetings... or being run-ragged by JL.

The FDA's rules are inconsistent and silly, risk-wise, IMO... so the pool of prospective donors keeps drying up :-(.

Could you still donate in the Netherlands?

Possibly, since the reason I can never donate here again is my time in the Netherlands. Other reasons are still an issue, but are only temporary bans. :)

It's because I've spent 6+ months there.. I believe it's a mad cow issue.. :) Very silly, too.

(nods) as far as the 5-months-cumulatively-in-Europe disqualification goes, I'm over halfway there myself. :-|.
