I think you really do need a road trip. You need a change of scenery not attached to work or home life. Just time alone with Brian, figuring out who Brian is.

Seconded. Wanting a break sometimes is not a sign of being immature or irresponsible.

Part of me wants a breather, a time out, a break... the past couple of months have been chaotic and very stressed. At the same time, nothing will fix itself or improve until I can work through it, so a break just postpones the resolution (if any)... I'm torn.
