Another 3-4 hour home improvement project that took eight... but it is done. I need to call the building inspector tomorrow. I added a new kitchen outlet, rerouted the circuits inside the wall, and moved the fan controller switch in preparation for counter installation later this year. [profile] patgreene took the kids out of the house, bless her... to the pool, then the beach, then out for dinner. I'm dusty and sweaty... time to cool off.

Actually, I kind of enjoy disassembling and rebuilding things... when it all works better, afterwards, it is a tangible pleasure. And hands-on work is good, sometimes. My version of crafts... once the kitchen is done, I may go back to homebrewing. I knocked down a half-wall a couple of weeks ago and was down to, um, bare studs yesterday before I put the wall panels back up.

(and I hope that's not a portent here! Sorry... (hug))

I hope it isn't a portent either, but I *can* say that I am much happier and much more fully myself now that I'm out of that relationship. I don't want you to have to go there, but it really wasn't the kitchen that caused it.

The kitchen, I miss. The sex and the cuddles, I miss. The cat, I miss. The fighting, the processing, the crying, and the trying to squeeze myself into a box, I don't miss. The new life I'm builing for myself now: incredibly good, and even when there are blunders and missteps they are mine and they feel alright.

I'm glad that you're happier nowadays. Processing, crying, trying to fit... those are unfortunately familiar from recent history.

I hope that you (both) get the support that you need. I am definitely sorry to hear about anyone going through what seems to be a similar time. I am a fan of relationships and want to support them, while its also true that for me, I am really glad that I left and when I left.
