I'm in Los Angeles... arrived yesterday afternoon, after a building inspection at home. Hung out in Manhattan Beach, drank coffee and watched the surf and birds while talking on my phone to my sister V and to geekchick. And then met trinker and S. for the first time! Yay! She's much younger than I'd expected, somehow. We had some excellent Indonesian food, the first I'd had in years.

Today... up early after a late-night talk with tenacious_snail (smile). The MEPAG meeting is on lunch break... some new results from the Columbia Hills ascent with Spirit, and the crater descent with Opportunity. Clear stratigraphy. Varves, esp. in lower units. But still no carbonates... lots of sulfites and hematite, reminiscent of Rio Tinto.

I'm going to try to run over now and visit sebab, then back to the meeting a bit late, then home after dinner tonight.

Sounds like you're having a great time. All this, and MEPAG too. Lucky you. You missed this morning's telecon... there wasn't much new to report but everyone is asking after you for some communications test plan, just so you know.

I placed a reservation with the travel folk for a trip to Madrid, dep 23 July and returning 31 July. I have to complete my paperwork with the contracting agency and hope to get it in tomorrow. I'd do it today but I have a doctor's appointment because this morning I got pretty whacked-out and need to follow up on it make sure it's not my meds.

Say hi to sebab for me. I'm glad you get to see her and I wish I could. I hope we all feel better soon, eh?
