good news, bad news

jayI'm safely in my DC-area hotel now... had a nice layover in Minneapolis and saw Nancy's house torn up in ongoing renovations, and had some overdue discussions. That's good :).
Checking email, NASA HQS has announced which Exploration Program proposal abstracts have been selected for preparation into full proposals. They picked 400 out of 3500 submitted. The good news... of the eight in which I'm a participant, three were picked. The bad news... the full proposals are due five days after I leave for Spain. I will have my hands full between now and leaving the country! JL is on one of them (ironically, the one *I* wrote at the last minute and gave to CSC for them to submit) and will undoubtedly pressure me to stay home... which I will resist ;).
