Finally... Parkfield went off! Twenty years too late, arguably, but at least before cutbacks removed most of the intense instrumentation there. :).

And seismologists were beginning to worry that it might be 7.0 or greater, given its level of tardiness, so I'm glad that it wasn't a dangerous quake.

many of my co-workers felt it here. Which I find surprising given how quake-proof this building is. I didn't, but I'm still a bit wobbly and dizzy from playing with meds earlier this week.

The 5+ M quakes outside Mammoth were also overdue, I think. And so much for the guy in LA predicting the Big One down there. And the aftermotion suggests it is not a precursor, though it is rather close to the Paso Robles site. I sure would like to see a stress map of the San Andreas though.

Likewise, although anything around Mammoth makes me a bit wary of volcanic precursors, as well...
