looking for recommendations

For various needs and talents of my kids... I'm looking for recommendations for support:

James needs some math tutoring, he's struggling in geometry... as well as music lessons (drums and percussion).

David has a beautiful voice and has vibrato and clarity and adult intonations at age 10... I'd like to get him some voice lessons, or at least an evaluation.

Kevin is bored in his figure-skating classes and could benefit from some private lessons there.

Any suggestions in the local area? Or ideas as to what reasonable fees are for these things? Thanks...

David - I could listen to him, but you would do well to contact Ragazzi Boy Choir (http://www.ragazzi.org/). I know the Executive Director over there, and the organization is well-run.

My folks have been paying $45-55/hr for math tutoring for my high-school aged brother for the last few years. They're ongoingly disappointed with the hit or miss quality of the tutoring (as well as abiliaty) of the college kids sitting at the tutoring center.

This though is servicing the San Ramon / Danville / Alamo area school district -- which is probably not entirely unlike what one might find around Mountain View.

Jon Leonard (Beth's husband) is starting a Math tutoring business... he'd be great. I'm going to hook Claire up with some help soon too.

re: figure skating. Private lesson fees here in the Midwest can range from $20-$100/hour and up. It depends on the skill level, experience and demand of a particular instructor. Lessons are usually sold in blocks of 15 min each, and the ice arena where he's having his group lessons/classes should be able to refer you to some private lesson instructors that might be appropriate for his level (eg, if he's still pretty basic, he certainly won't need the $100/hour instructor).

Drumss for james
