toy status update ;)

Two weeks later, and $3600 sent to the current owner by Paypal, and still no car... the exhaust system has been replaced, it passed its smog check, but now the convertible top shop has a backlog and can't finish replacing the ripped top until Thursday lunchtime. So I will need to cancel my DMV appointment tomorrow afternoon...

On the good side, the car will have a recently-rebuilt engine and almost new transmission, recent paint and now new exhaust and a top. Someday I'll actually see the car in person... ;).

And... patgreene got her Jeopardy winnings check in the mail today! So she's off to the Apple store, determined to have something tangible for herself to show for it before bills and household crises absorb it all. (wry grin)

Finally, the $26 used TV, that I bought on eBay and that patgreene hauled back from Sacramento yesterday, works great and the kids have a GameCube display again...

My blue Mustang convertible was officially totaled after a fender-bender left scratches and scrapes on the front bumper and quarter-panel. Cosmetic, but it is 17 years old... so I'm taking the proceeds and buying a black 1994 Mustang convertible sight-unseen on eBay, while a sweetie is buying the older ragtop for her son at the salvage value.

I am glad to hear that the TV is working great-- I am sure that the K&D are happy to have *their* toy. I am also glad to hear that Pat is getting a laptop-- I know that she's been wanting one of her own, and using the Jeopardy money is symbolically nice.

As for the car...good luck in getting it...I hope that the delayed schedule for pick-up doesn't cause a problem for Julie picking up the old one or your plans with her.

More delays... the top won't be done until the end of today (Thursday), so I'll be picking it up Friday around 1pm in San Leandro. I could use a ride from my house to there tomorrow... (smile).
