general status check

jayI haven't been writing many posts lately... I've been both busy and haven't felt like I had anything interesting to say. Who really cares about the trials of finally getting the new black convertible reregistered on Monday, or how I now have a new stainless counter and cooktop and cabinet in my kitchen? I've been mostly recovering from the aftermath of an intense couples therapy session last Friday, and have been kind of numbed ever since. Work has been stretched-out and frazzled, and I've been called in for meetings and presentations on short notice. Today's briefing went well.
At the same time, I feel kind of isolated socially lately, cut off somehow. No gatherings, no parties, and the lone date in the past week was takingpatgreene to see "Sideways" on Saturday. No lunch dates either, everyone seems too busy in their own lives. OTOH, tenacious_snail came over for a family dinner last night (smile), and I've had good IMs on successive nights with geekchick and who_is_she... and I appreciate all of those. :-)
And tomorrow morning I will be headed to Minneapolis for four days -- it is an annual long weekend, scheduled around Nancy and my anniversary date (six years on 2/7, go us!). Maybe we'll go skiing or sledding, and I'll get to meetmnfiddledragon on Friday :).

Date: 2005-02-02 10:20 pm (UTC)Glad to hear the car is registered...I noticed that it had no plates when I saw it last night, and hoped that that was a good sign, but given that you were busy when I arrived, it slipped my mind by the time you became available.
and note, I'm not too BUSY, I've been too SICK. (and, despite that, I came over on Sunday and on Tuesday)
