Tonight I had a date with tenacious_snail... my mission was to provide support on a difficult anniversary date. We were going to cook together... but Les wasn't up to shopping and so we went to a nearby Ethiopian cafe in Berkeley. Then had king cake (yes, I know it's Lent, but still...) back at her place. I tucked her in after midnight and headed to Wine and Song.

I caught ag_unicorn there in time to hand off the bunch of purple irises and candy from James to A... hung out for an hour or so, then went home. Whereupon patgreene said "whew! You've been eating garlic!"... apparently there must have been a lot in the Ethiopian food. Sigh... I must have been less-than-pleasant to hug at W&S, and never realized it.

You know, I didn't notice the smell of garlic at a conscious level (and I do love it), but when I was looking at your dish, I couldn't tell if those were lamb bones in cross section, or if they were slices of large cloves of garlic. So, clearly, I must have had a perception of the garlic at some level.

Those *were* bones (which was a challenge) but that doesn't rule out garlic as well...
