supportive, but fragrant

Tonight I had a date with [personal profile] tenacious_snail... my mission was to provide support on a difficult anniversary date. We were going to cook together... but Les wasn't up to shopping and so we went to a nearby Ethiopian cafe in Berkeley. Then had king cake (yes, I know it's Lent, but still...) back at her place. I tucked her in after midnight and headed to Wine and Song.

I caught [profile] ag_unicorn there in time to hand off the bunch of purple irises and candy from James to A... hung out for an hour or so, then went home. Whereupon [profile] patgreene said "whew! You've been eating garlic!"... apparently there must have been a lot in the Ethiopian food. Sigh... I must have been less-than-pleasant to hug at W&S, and never realized it.

You know, I didn't notice the smell of garlic at a conscious level (and I do love it), but when I was looking at your dish, I couldn't tell if those were lamb bones in cross section, or if they were slices of large cloves of garlic. So, clearly, I must have had a perception of the garlic at some level.

Those *were* bones (which was a challenge) but that doesn't rule out garlic as well...
