slightly edgy, this morning

Meh. Clearly a bit hungover this morning... sharing a bottle of wine last night may not have been such a great idea. (rubs forehead) Not helped by being woken by the sounds of a Bush morning press conference on the radio. Still... last night was a lot of fun.

Now, off to try to court the lunar program guys at NASA-Goddard (and convince them that they'll need to drill on the Moon, too). Given the fiscal crisis back at Ames, we've all been instructed to take on a technology marketing role.

Then, back home this evening. Zero weekend plans at this point, nothing much seems to be happening this weekend.

That's the official disclaimer, at least. In reality, the chemical signature of Rio Tinto anaerobes in that Mars-analog environment *does* resemble that seen thus far on Mars, and the Mars Express team finding more methane and possibly formaldehyde strengthens the argument, IMO. A paper will be out later in the spring, but the disclaimer is technically correct in that no paper has been thus far published. And that the results don't mean life, necessarily, but is suggestive...
