Today I've been filing travel paperwork among other bureaucratic things at work, as well as stepping-out to get my EKG test, a haircut and my annual flu shot... in case anyone would be interested in my travel plans over the next couple of months, here they are:

March 14-18, Houston (JSC - Clear Lake area) for the LPSC. Must finish posters soon.

March 27-30, Atlanta, for a two day DAME design review at Georgia Tech

April 18-19, New York City, drill testing at Honeybee, followed by
April 19-21, Washington, DC SWIM technical review at Boeing.

There could be a day-trip to JPL tossed in at some point, and possibly personal travel in late April to Las Vegas. The week of May 23 looks to be spent in NYC again for pre-ship drill integration, but that's too far out to be certain.

You're designing DAMES? That didn't work out so well for Pigmalion, IIRC.

I'll check my calendar for April. I know where all the pools are, so you can practice up for your SWIM test.

(And I actually thought that computer scientists had some sort of monopoly on finding the silliest names for things...)

(giggle) hey, my most recent project involving the characterization of lunar regolith is called CRUX... probably helps, with the current administration ;).

If you've got time, we should have dinner or something...even if it has to be at the airport on your way out of town ;)

I'd be pleased to see you... although I have two complicating factors. The first is that my 14-year-old son James will be flying back with me on 3/30. The second is that I'm bringing him (and flying out early, on Sunday for a Tue-Wed meeting) to spend time with my father. He has an incurable lung condition and may not last the year. So time spent with my parents will be my highest unofficial priority.

That said, I could possibly meet you for lunch Monday, or for coffee late on Monday or Tuesday (my parents go to bed early, around 8-8:30pm). My flight home leaves at 5pm Wednesday, and I arrive there at 6:15pm Sunday evening.

Family needs to come first. No if's and's or but's about it.
While it would be nice to see you, I think your family needs to have the time with you more than some crazy girl. I will be here the next time you come to town, and most likely the next few times after that.

I know you have the new work phone number, but I'll email my cell number. If you need an emotional clearinghouse while you're here, I'll happily take a coffee distraction.
