On Friday, Feb. 25 Bank of America and the GSA Smart Pay Program
notified 40 Federal agencies that computer tapes containing
purchase, travel and fleet account information were lost in late
December 2004 at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport
Cargo Facility.

My information, of course, was among them... I'd been avoiding BofA calls as usual, since they're usually demanding payment. Now I'll wait and see if I receive charges for unexpected travel expenses in faraway places...

Travel to faraway places like, say, the arctic circle, Spain, Washington DC, etc. You are a credit card processors nightmare. You stick out like a sore thumb, and it is all legit. Trying to determine whst isn't legit will be really hard given where you have been.

You're not alone in this one, though.. ;) I've done enough strange last-minute travel that any account I have has instructions not to cut it off due to location changes. The balance between 'not having someone run up charges in aruba' and 'not having my card work 2 days into a 3 week trip to Amsterdam and running out of cash' is sadly impossible to find.
