Wednesday... Kevin's triennial IEP. He's making excellent progress, and needs help mostly in catching up in reading and decoding skills. Grades are above average for his class, and he's in the gifted-kids program... not bad for the first half-year out of special ed.

Then a air traffic pitch to program management... no decision until early April. But my first marsh walk with Jen in months, afterward.

Then skating practice! I learned some new things: half-lutz jump, backwards pivot. Followed by a run across the bay to the end of Sunset and Port.

Thursday... performance review interviews with our interns, lunch with [personal profile] hopeforyou. Holding a sweet newborn baby. And then a date tonight with [personal profile] tenacious_snail... (smile).

Now I imagine you Hans-Brinker-like skating across the Bay. Except I'm guessing it's not frozen.

Congratulations on the new moves! Let's go to Rockefeller Center the next time you're in town, and you can show them off.

That's terrific about Kevin. What made it happen?

Kevin benefitted from having a teacher who was fair but strict. Unlike David's teacher from 2d grade who was strict but not fair, Kevin's teacher actually likes him and enjoys having him in class.
