I'm functioning on 3.5 hours sleep, about half that on the first flight. Thank goodness for upgrades...

In Minneapolis, I was rushing to my gate through security... somewhere on the other side, I dropped my driver's license. In DC, Hertz wouldn't let me take out a car without it... so I spent an hour on my cellphone (thank goodness it's back...) calling the DMV in Sacramento... just before 5pm in CA. I did my best upset-stranded-traveler and politeness on the DMV phone agent, who was about to go home and initially resisted printing and FAXing me a temporary license. But she did.... whew.

Stressed and fatigued, I needed a hug, and [personal profile] geekchick very kindly obliged :). I feel better now.

I swear, you need your license tatooed on the back of your hand!

Glad you were able to pull the rabbit out of the hat as usual, and that you could get a hug from a sweetie.

After the same thing happened last year in Houston, yep. With 15-20 trips per year, that's a lot of license-waving-around through security.

I work best under chaos and stress, arguably. It increases the possibility of either achieving something startling, or else blowing up spectacularly...

you are amazingly skilled at crises. It impresses me.

but I'm okay with being impressed at how well you plan fifth anniversary celebratory weekend get-aways (though I recognize it will need to be scheduled so as not to conflict with a...hmm, 26th(?) anniversary).

Correct on both counts. Although I want to have a large, noisy, inclusive 25th anniversary party, the year before (2008)... unlike our 20th, which passed by quietly (our priest was barely comfortable even recognizing us at a Sunday morning service then, because Pat and I were struggling... I still hold a small grudge against him over that).

I enjoy planning parties. I'm sure we'll be in touch on a fairly regular basis before any actual planning needs to happen here.
