Just wasted three hours in fruitless relationship processing.. meanwhile, lots of time today spent repeatedly describing the benefits of a modular software architecture and middleware for a future lunar lander, instead of one control loop on one CPU running everything. Went to the Army CRREL lab in Hanover, NH as a side trip... saw lots of cold environmental chambers. Did not get to see noelfigart or her family.

And this afternoon, we got the Legos and K'Nex and began building a physical model of the lander or rover.



followed by the CRREL trip and then a "New England clambake" back at the hotel... not what I expected, but, hey, free lobster buffet!

unfortunately, the big issue isn't a relationship one-- it is a sweetie who is feeling totally and completely insecure and frightened because of job-related stressors (accompanied by short-term financial stressors), and who hasn't done a good job of conveying "please take care of me. I'm scared by how fragile I feel right now. And because I feel really fragile and scared, I'm going to poke at you to see if you are going to abandon me, too. And if it seems like you might, I will really freak out."
