weekend

I'm stressed and edgy and the work week hasn't yet begun here...

It was a short weekend, after getting home Saturday afternoon. Friday I left Vermont before 6am, drove the 110 miles from Fairlee to Manchester in 1:20, and made a morning flight to BWI. Then lunch with my NASA Headquarters program manager... who I like greatly and who is coming to the Arctic with us. Even if she's been in DC for two years and still doesn't know where to go for lunch ;). And then other meetings downtown, and fighting traffic outbound...

Friday night was a milestone... first overnight in three years in DC with geekchick. Yay! Though slightly anticlimactic, as both of us were exhausted from the week and conked out after dinner.

David's Ragazzi concert was a success, Saturday afternoon... he didn't fidget, behaved and sang beautifully. Noticeable improvements since March. And we were joined there by EK (school resource specialist) and tenacious_snail (who I'm also grateful towards for covering Kevin's Little League closing ceremonies, that morning). Then Pat and I went to a party in San Jose, and saw who_is_she and other, non-LJ friends there... I was so tired that I fell asleep. Ulp.

Today... church, vacation arrangements, relationship processing. I tried to find a solution that would satisfy others, ignoring my own preferences. Wound up with three dissatisfied people instead of just one. Sigh. More stress and edginess... it hasn't been a good couple of weeks, in that sense.

yay for overnight, yay for David's concert success. Sorry for the stress and edginess. Definitely quit overriding your own preferences in favor of others--it's not doing anyone any favors. (I know, Pot, Kettle, Black :^P)

Yes, dear, we do share certain attributes! Both from IMO from good intentions, but sometimes backfiring on others as well as not serving ourselves. And watching you wrestle with similar issues, and learning from your experiences is one of the many things I value about our relationship. :)

I'm in the quarry Wednesday morning, until lunchtime... I might have some time over lunch, say 1pm or so, but need to take James to the airport after 3pm. Seeing you again would be great, it has been weeks!
