jayTopeka to St. Louis to Chicago... 620 miles. Whew.... got in at 10:30pm. Filled with pizza and otherwise stressed, I couldn't sleep...
Today: museums, and on to my Aunt's place in Howard, OH.
Before leaving Topeka, we drove past Fred Phelp's Westboro Baptist Church, the one with the "godhatesamerica.com" banner... euww. But educational, as a (bad) example.
Late afternoon was spent around St. Louis, including a ride up inside the Gateway Arch. Here's Saarinen's futuristic tram compartment...patgreene said it felt claustrophobic.
And here's Kevin, at the top observation deck:
Driving on to Chicago (no sunglasses after dark ;), we went downtown to the original Due's on Wabash for deep-dish pizza. Three pieces... I waddled out... mmm.
