Munich to Amsterdam...

jayI left Munich on Friday in the early afternoon... Amsterdam was familiar and welcoming.
Friday morning, I wandered around Munich and decided to visit the Frauenkirche... it was good to be in a spiritual, contemplative place after the previous night's rowdiness. One of the chapels had a Renaissance-style center panel with two bordering modernist-style panels:
Flying to Amsterdam... initially I thought "this is too easy, too much is in English." Still, ir is arguably my favorite European city. And our hotel had funny smells in the elevator shaft, but our room had great views, like this one of the Rijksmuseum:
Picking upsarahh at midnight, we rode a train back... the next morning, wandered around on foot. We wandered by Sarah's former office space for Greenpeace, near the Westerkerk:
Where we also saw a small rose, obviously tended, growing from a tiny 2cm-wide strip bordering the sidewalk:
Then rendezvoused withscience_vixen and halimede, who are great people and also gave us a ride to/from Schiphol, where we met the arrived birthday girl (karen_by_night).
