On my way to Atlanta... very busy, lots of errands and loose threads at work, behind on LJ and email. Had a nice lunch with who_is_she visiting here yesterday, though... :)

I'd be careful shipping with UPS... tried to send a medium-sized 2' cube weighing 6 lbs to Fairfax, VA and they tried to charge me $224.75 for 3rd-day because of volume ("dimensional weighing"). FedEx cost an order of magnitude less...

Good gods! Thats ridiculous! I wouldn't deal with UPS anyway. I've not had good dealings with them. Their service sucks and from what I know, they don't treat their employees all that well either.

I have heard good things about DHL though.

I would be happy to regale you with UPS horror stories some time. E.g.: a package that wound up on a second-floor balcony (yes, they *threw* it up there).
