We left at 6:30am, drove 500 miles, arrived in St. Petersburg at 4:30pm... things here are relaxed, warmer, likely to rain for most of the week. Tomorrow we'll go to the beach, maybe a theme park Wednesday...

I'm using my T650 as a Bluetooth dial-up modem, then broadcasting 802.11 locally to set up a temporary local network.

That sounds interesting... I'll be interested to hear how you do that, since I now have a 650, too! :)

My Apple Powerbook can serve as a wireless base station and issue addresses... it can use Bluetooth to communicate with the Treo, which in turn connects to Verizon's local data network. You'd need to set up the Treo as a visible Bluetooth device, and load a small patch that enables dial-up-networking on the 650. I have the Verizon patch, others exist for Sprint, Cingular, etc. Then the local number for the Treo to call is generally #777 .

On a CDMA Treo, anyway. It's slightly different on the GSM ones. ;)
