Ice skating party, 1/22

Given the poll results last month (here), just before leaving for Atlanta I made reservations for an ice skating party.

Please join us for some wintertime fun, outdoors on Sunday late afternoon/early evening, January 22 from 5:30-7:30pm at the Winter Lodge, 3009 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto. This will be a child-friendly (encouraged) event. We'll provide cider, cocoa, cheese and crackers and patgreene's brownies (any potluck contributions of other food or drink are welcome, but not necessary), and cheery people gliding around in their winter outerwear... I'll cover admissions and skate rental for RSVPs before 1/16 (free for non-skaters, in any case).

I would love to go and bring the kids, but it is just a bit late for us with school the next morning. I am sorry to miss it again.

(nods) leaving at 7:30, driving back and feeding the kids, with school the next day, could be pushing it for some parents. Our kids have 8:30pm bedtimes on school nights, which we'll probably stretch a bit that night.

I'm a pretty strong maybe. It's been years since I've skated, so I'm expecting to fall a fair bit. My ultimate answer will depend upon the state of my knee at that time, of course, although I'll probably come to watch even if I'm not up to skating anyway.

Darn. We're going to be at a concert that afternoon. If I'd known sooner, I would have bought tickets for the alternate show. Ah well.

we are two adults and two kids now...mva is bringing "a friend" :-) although she is checking right now to see if it is ok with his folks....
