When I've given out all of my cash to James for his lunch money for the week, only to discover I've only got $2 left and can't afford my own lunch at work...
I usually just smile pretty and ask one of the guys to float me till I can get some money, but I think I have *uhem* assets *uhem* that help me do that...
(nods) smiling pretty, on my part, just makes co-workers think I'm Up To Something.... and I can't imagine borrowing money from anyone, anyway. I might have borrowed $500 for car repairs from my parents once, in grad school, but repaid it with interest.
The guys know I'm up to something if I smile evilly ;-)
We end up flaoting little loans at lunch sometimes, not often. If we end up at a cash-only place, mostly, because most of us only carry plastic (I love my check card).
