A slightly weird job task... calling headstone companies, in search of a block of limestone. Our project's Mars-prototype drill arrives in a day or two and I'll need something comparable to Bedford limestone to drill into for initial tests. Finding fieldstone isn't easy, most of it is prefabricated into thin slabs for walls and kitchens. Most tombstone companies use only granite, nowadays, but they're still my best bet for finding a local slab... so I'm calling grave marker companies, identifying myself as from NASA and then asking them about their supply of stock...

Just as well that I identified myself as from NASA, not just "the government", or folks might have wondered if I was from Defense or even Homeland Security... :-|
