Back to Washington, and face-to-face :)

I'm checked in and settled in my hotel in Tyson's Corner, waiting to go out later for dinner with the lovely
geekchick, who is on her way.
After being stranded in the rain in the predawn darkness this morning, my flights were uneventful. Given 3 hours of sleep last night, I slept for most of the journey... despite a well-meaning guy from Oregon sitting next to me who was a chatterbox and had big elbows. The guy even tried to teach me sudoku... I finally just stared out the window and dozed off.
After landing at BWI, I scrambled... made it to a local Starbucks near the airport, in time to meet an online friend,
archway, for the first time. Yay! We tried this unsuccessfully last summer in North Carolina. She seemed strange and familiar at once... more layers and flashes of familiar aspects as we talked and sipped our beverages. And she's got the boldness and mischeviousness and Amazon warrior-nature that I'd expected. And was striking in green velvet, on her way with her sweetie B. to a later event. (smile) These meet-someone-IRL scenarios have an edge on uncertainty and excitement, at least for me, and this one turned out very well.
Otherwise... I've found the Kinko's that has my poster for the conference...
