Parental ritual no. 37: up late after the kids are asleep, putting green shredded paper and egg-like candy in baskets, as well as hiding others around the house...
Was up WAAAAY too late doing that as well. Though in our case, it involved pink shredded paper for AKD, purple shredded paper for me, and rainbow shredded paper for grynz. :^) (Akien and dreamervictoria got light green, and klrmn got dark green). The Bunny comes for everyone who is at the house in the morning (and all offspring, so far, even if the basket has to wait awhile). This makes it a tad complicated sometimes!
No hiding this year, though of course AKD got plenty of that at the RW last month (and in an online "virtual" egg hunt at Zetapets on Wednesday!).
Individualized basket-grass colors? That's cute! Purple might have been hard to find... I saw rainbow and pink and green shades in stores. Although I did vary the contents (no chocolate bunnies for James, who regarded them as childish and beneath his dignity ;^).
I have enough basket grass to fill about 2x as many baskets as I did this year. Most of it being green. But when I spotted the pink and purple last year after Easter, it seemed a no-brainer to buy it and stash it away!
I was so lame in my basket-filling purchases this year that NO one got a chocolate bunny. Jelly beans (STarburst, Akien's fave), peeps (for Akien and AKD), speckled Cadbury eggs (my fave), and caramel-filled koalas (purchased post-x-mas) were the candy this year. Not even any Cadbury Creme eggs, which are a staple most years! Fortunately, I had a back stock of "tiny gifts" suitable for stockings and baskets stashed away in the attic.
James' loss. I'll eat his bunny ears if he wants. :^D
