Apart from some kid-stress this evening, it was a productive and pleasant, sunny weekend. Wine and Song on Friday led to some lovely group photos, and seeing [personal profile] klrmn and [personal profile] dawnd unexpectedly there was a bonus.

Saturday morning... coffee with [personal profile] tenacious_snail and [personal profile] inflectionpoint together. Much grinning, cuddles and bad jokes. Then, one of Kevin's Little League games... soul-nourishing to sit in a park on a beautiful spring day and watch baseball. Last night, [profile] patgreene and I went out for lively discussion over dessert, and bookstore-browsing.

Today... at church, we saw a friend who used to be our parish's seminarian. She co-taught a Bible study class with [profile] patgreene, and later was also our couples counselor. She's off to become a rector of a small church near Chico, in Paradise, CA. Really. ;-)

I built another unit of hanging cabinets... after Kevin's Little League team photo, I put them up, extended in open air over the bar, such that they appear highly cantilevered. This is the last planned structural change or addition in the 5-years-ongoing kitchen renovation. Nearly done! Yay.... and tonight was a date with [personal profile] tenacious_snail, burgers at Clarke's and a twilight stroll out to Stevens Creek Trail.

Glad it was a good weekend for you, dear one :-)

And Chico is a sweet little town, with notably good health food store, bead store, antiques stores, restaurants, and geocaching. Oh, and parklands.

There is a spread on Chico in a recent edition of Sunset Magazine. Sounds like a nicer place than I would have guessed (I've never been).

Cathy's aunt met us there for lunch, in Sept. 2003, and we wandered around... nice medium-sized college town near the Sierra foothills. See http://brian1789.livejournal.com/166389.html ...
