progress, amidst some turbulence

A couple of weeks of being careful, exercising frequently and then burning a lot of calories this weekend, and the scale dipped back into the 180s this morning, the first time in about a year and placing me "only" (sigh) 19 lbs over my actuarially-ideal weight. At least the current direction is good. More weekends like the last one would help, but are too hard to do often. And I still need to work on muscle tone in the upper-body, which didn't get as much attention during skating season. And time for a haircut.
The weekend was positive, overall... saw an A's game Friday night with
patgreene (her Devil Rays won, alas),
tenacious_snail and Kevin, who managed to get a real grass-stained MLB baseball (a vendor picked up a foul ball , later tossed it to Kevin).
Saturday... replaced the oven controller, didn't fix the problem, which must be the thermostat. Then headed to a private party later, stayed over, and slept late on Sunday. Some old never-healed relationship wounds got ripped open again, at least in part because I asked questions when I really didn't want to know the answers, but I was in a safe space, got support from
tenacious_snail and other partners later, and have been busy processing it all in my head, since. I have a lot of pent up... anger, as much as anything, that I've been suppressing (as I often do).
And after returning, I took David out for his requested activity with me (minigolf and ice cream), joined later by
cyan_blue. Geri and I went and looked at our geocache, which has been visited 28 times in its first week :) And Pat and I quietly snuggled and watched TV at home while I got her ice cream. (smile)
