flowers and invitations...

Yesterday... back on the road, an uneventful couple of flights from San Jose to DCA, caught up on sleep. Had dinner at Da Domenico with [personal profile] geekchick... same as we went here. I called ahead and reserved the same booth. Flowers were a bit of a problem, though... I arrived in Tyson's Corner after local florists had closed. So I wound up buying a rose and foliage and pins and scissors and ribbon and making a corsage in my hotel room ;). Which made me 5 minutes late arriving downstairs, and the pin was too large for her to wear it in any case. (shrug)

In any case, she was tired from the previous day's work deadlines, so we were kind of low-key, but it was lovely to see her and spend a couple of hours together. And Da Domenico's owner was there singing arias in the main dining room, last night... :)

Today... about to check out and then head to NASA Headquarters to hand out invitations to our DAME drilling automation demonstration, and meet with my project sponsors. Then off to NYC and hopefully dinner with [personal profile] elissaann tonight.

Awww... I like that you hand-made a corsage for her, and re-created your first date together. You are so sweetly romantic... :-)

And in Jay-Standard-Time, only 5 minutes late translates into rather eager-with-anticipation early ;-)

*hugs you*

Luckily Cathy-Standard-Time usually runs at about the same pace, so it all works out. ;)
