Friday, I took
patgreene to a hospital ER for chest pains. Then took the kids to the beach, picked up Pat after her release, and then headed home. We were stranded on I-5 when the transmission on our van broke. Eventually
tenacious_snail rode to our rescue...

Tri-Cities Emergency Room entrance
Pat had chest pain and shortness of breath, here in Carlsbad, CA. She was checked out... it turned out to be a pulled pectoral muscle, plus an asthma flare-up. |

Kids at the beach
Here are James, Kevin and David at the beach near San Diego, while Pat was being tested at a nearby hospital. Kevin and David had fun, but James complained that he was now too heavy to body-surf... |

James at the beach
I thought this showed James off well... he has grown a lot, in several respects, since we were last here. |

Midnight breakdown on I-5 near Coalinga, CA
Trying to rush home early so I could catch a flight to Atlanta the next morning, our 2004 Freestar broke down on I-5, seven miles from the nearest exit, in almost total darkness other than headlights of passing cars and trucks. Eventually, Ford sent out a tow truck, who dropped Pat and the kids and I at a motel at the next exit (adjacent to Harris Ranch) before taking the car to the nearest Ford dealer (in Coalinga, 25 miles west). |

you're right about James, there. It has been a while since I've seen him in a swimsuit, and I notice the changes/how he has grown.
I think your next vacation needs more lorikeets, though. I liked *that* photo set much better than the one with the ER and tow truck.
