Today we began drilling tests... also got a repeater up so we have net coverage in the crater, and a magazine wants an article in their next week's issue. We worked until 9:30pm, but I'm pretty happy with the day.
Cracker supports
The tripods were all too high, so we resorted to mounting the lasers on stacks of 5-year-old vending machine snack crackers, duct-taped to a Pelican case...
Repeater installed
I helped C. install a repeater on Haynes Ridge, shown here. After C. and S.'s efforts, it worked and now we'll have net coverage down into the crater.
Saxifrage
Arctic summer blossoms... these are more commonplace inside the crater, while the outside is very barren.

Delighted that you've got coverage at the crater now. Yay!
Thanks also for the saxifrage photo. The color is startling after all the grey.
