I'm damp, tonight... post-figure skating lessons, tonight. It is one of the few things that I do just for myself, and tonight the coaches worked us hard. Two new full-rotation jumps, the flip and loop... I barely managed the former, never completely landed the latter, and fell twice. And we worked on one-footed spins, and going down in spins, and edges. Pushed myself, given both new maneuvers and a lack of balance due to my cold.

Sometimes I wish I had a skating buddy, or an occasional date for Wednesdays who could hang out before my lesson...

Otherwise, I'm trying to line up more drilling automation projects at work, and made reservations for travel in 2 weeks to Atlanta and DC. Monday I saw p3aches, yesterday I talked to Nancy at length and drove to UC Berkeley to meet with a student and have Ethiopian food with yami_mcmoots (I got lost afterwards, but found my way to drop in on inflectionpoint). Today I split lunch and a visit to Watercourse Way with cyan_blue, talked awhile with geekchick and surprised tenacious_snail with a quick stopover after skating tonight. So... lots of contacts with sweeties and friends in the past couple of days. Contacted all of the former, actually, except for one who is unreachable ;-).

your visit was a delightful surprise.

I'd be happy to try a stint as a skating buddy-- I think we managed to find skates that worked in P.A., though the ones near JSC were a disaster.

My class runs from 9:10-9:55pm, but I can start skating in the main rink anytime after 8pm. I'd be happy to have company. :)

It was great to see you. On the wed evenings I actually have free I think it would be awesome to come watch you skate.I admire your tenacity in your pursuit of leaning to ice skate. namaste Teri

It's been a long time since I've skated, and even then it was for hockey, not the type you prefer. =)

Wednesdays are my date night with riff_77, so I'm unlikely to help. Still, I want to meet you in person some time soon!

I'd enjoy going skating with you again... I have very fond memories of the prior time :-)

While free Wednesday nights are infrequent for me, weekends or weekday daytimes could work.
