Christmas striving
Dec. 25th, 2006 08:25 pmJust went across the street and handed my neighbor the collection for their vandalized creche... probably about $150 total. I told them that their neighbors and friends were sorry to see their yard invaded and things destroyed. They were surprised. :) Later they came by and gave me a couple of hand-painted sun and moon ornaments.
Otherwise, today has been busy with cleaning and cooking and sick child care (Kevin has nausea and a fever, and I was up with him 3 times between 3-6am). The kids and
patgreene liked my gifts, including a beaded necklace I'd originally bought Pat on our honeymoon, bargaining in a Bahamian straw market. It broke 20 years ago, but I saved the beads and
cyan_blue restrung them last week :).
Church was good this morning... a sermon on inclusion. I'm coming to like the new rector. And dinner went well, graced by the addition of
tenacious_snail and
inflectionpoint to our family table. We also sent rations over to Good Heavens, given our abundance :).
Overall, a happy time.

Continued good wishes for Kevin's health... please tell him that I am thinking of him.
And, hope that the sermon on inclusion is a harbinger of good things to come at your church.
