Yeah, the photodynamic skin therapy today was unpleasant... 16 minutes of bright blue through closed eyelids, feeling heat on my face and scalp and with stabbing needle-like sensations while I sat there in the machine. Afterwards, it has felt like a bad sunburn, with some blotchiness. Still, way better than possibly getting skin cancer in ten years.

But I'm touched and happy by my support... [personal profile] tenacious_snail lent her apartment as a kid-free quiet place to lay down and rest, afterwards... [personal profile] cyan_blue moved our scheduled lunch date from the East Bay to nearby, and picked up takeout food to bring back for me to said apartment... and [profile] patgreene went out and bought topical lotions for the pain and swelling, and quietly left them for me outside while I was having lunch with Geri. Awww... :D.

Ow. I'm sorry to hear that it was *16* minutes, not 12, and that the pain was that intense. Granted, given that you're an artic-going redhead, I'm glad that you're getting treatment.

I'm additionally glad to hear of all the pieces that came together, and that you were willing to accept support/help.

I love you. clicky

I've begun wondering if all of that time spent in the Arctic since 1998, under the ozone hole in summer, is actually contributing to these precancerous spots. I *did* cover my head and use sunblock, at the time, but maybe it wasn't enough...
