Pat is out of surgery (well, almost) and her vitals are good. Her hysterectomy took over 4 hours, and required an unexpected abdominal incision (like a C-section) because of a mass of scar tissue (from Kevin's C-section, six years ago.

It was adhering to tissues in various places down there... some bleeding (she's still under, currently getting a blood transfusion) and the extra staples-in-tummy. The other reconstructive surgery (bladder) was a breeze by comparison.

It's after 5pm here.... I should be able to see her in another hour. J is at home watching our collective 5 kids.

Thank you for the update, Brian. It's good to hear that she is doing okay and that she will be done with surgery very soon. Hang in there! Let me know if there's anything I can do to help, and give Pat my best wishes to get well soon. *hugs*
