Pat is out of surgery (well, almost) and her vitals are good. Her hysterectomy took over 4 hours, and required an unexpected abdominal incision (like a C-section) because of a mass of scar tissue (from Kevin's C-section, six years ago.
It was adhering to tissues in various places down there... some bleeding (she's still under, currently getting a blood transfusion) and the extra staples-in-tummy. The other reconstructive surgery (bladder) was a breeze by comparison.
It's after 5pm here.... I should be able to see her in another hour. J is at home watching our collective 5 kids.
