Settling back

Pat came home this afternoon, after five days in the hospital. She's in pain, popping Vicodin and ibuprofen and moving around *very* gingerly. This afternoon and evening has been spent running errands, cooking, cleaning, dealing with the kids, bringing Pat small items or requests... it is good to have her home.
I have a bit of cabin fever... I really want to get out, around groups of people, away from both childcare and hospital responsibilities. Tonight's events didn't work out -- an apology to those who invited me. But maybe I can get out of the house next week sometime. Tomorrow looks like more of the same...
Otherwise, one good thing that has come out of the past two weeks, for me, has been the outpouring of support and good wishes. I've really felt like part of a community, as well as appreciated and valued for my own sake. Thanks, again. :-)

Date: 2002-09-15 03:37 pm (UTC)I've never been to a renfaire, anywhere... they're kind of intimidating. I have a tux I can wear to the opera or fancy receptions, but no appropriate clothes for going to a renfaire. And I hate just being "mundane"... that's also why I tend to not go to SF conventions. Immersion, vs. being peripheral or an outsider. I used to accompany friends to SCA events, until I got tired of being a perpetual bystander, likewise.

They do sell appropriate clothing, and Jason says they rent outfits as well. For that matter, Jason has a few items from his SCA days that he'd be happy to let you wear.
